Join us every Sunday for a thought provoking Sermon from our minister Rev. Daniel Paul.

Sunday School for all ages at 9:30am every Sunday morning

Ongoing events:

Sunshine Sister Meeting: March 18 at 3:30 In the green room. All are invited and encouraged to attend.

Fellowship Meal: A fellowship meal is held bi- monthly on the First Sunday. Information provided in the bulletins.

Good Shepherd Mission Donation: All are encourage to join with the Sunshine Sisters by collecting Items. Items are subject to change monthly based on the mission needs.

Sewing/Quilting/Crafting group: Group works on individual projects as well as community projects. Every Tuesday, 10am - 3pm, Clark Hall. The community is encouraged to join us!

Pilates/Movement with Molly: Every Monday and Thursday at 11am in Clark Hall. The class is for all fitness level. All are welcome to join.

Contemplative Prayer Group Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays at 4:30pm, Prayer Chapel.

The group is a 20 minute meditative silent prayer lead by Carrie Watson.

Adult Bible Study: Wednesday mornings at 10am in the Pastor's office and online. Call the office for login information.

Rev. Daniel Paul

Senior Pastor Daniel Paul Is an ordained minister of the Christian Church Disciples of Christ. Daniel grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, After college he worked as a real estate assessor in Ohio, then worked for 10 years as a camp director for the Boy Scouts of America in the San Francisco Bar Area. He was working as a musician before attending seminary and graduating from the Graduate Theological Union at Cal State Berkeley. Daniel was awarded the Wesley Singer Preaching Award. He served 24 years as the Senior Pastor at the Christian Church of Pacifica Grove, California. He also was the spiritual Coordinator for the Beacon House, a drug and alcohol inpatient rehab for three years. He served five years on the Board of Directors for the Yakama Christian Mission in Washington Daniel was the president of the Monterey Peninsula Ministerial Association the the Director of the Blue Theology Mission Station. Always interested in Ecumenical and Interfaith work, Daniel hosts a weekly lectionary text study with local mainline clergy and helps coordinate the Annual Huntsville St, Francis Blessing of the pets and the Annual Prayer and Pie Service on the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving.

Rev. George E. Oliver

Minister of Music

George is a native of Texas and holds degrees in Theatre and Theology from Sam Houston State University and Andover Newton Seminary (at Yale Divinity School). He is ordained in the American Baptist Churches - USA and Alliance of Baptist denominations. George served as the Senior Pastor of Grace Baptist Church in San Jose. He served congregations in New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Texas and California. His congregations have been diverse groups ranging from college students to senior, who throughout their century here have fought for justice, put stone equity into expanding the Kin(g)Dom of God and pried open doors of welcome whenever they could. He presently serves as the Minister of Music here at First Christian Church of Huntsville.

- Starting March 3rd, the lentwriters group will gather to share their spiritual journals in a confidential and supportive setting.

Silent Retreat

Join us from 9-3 on April 12 for a silent retreat with programming, meals, music and meditation as we approach Holy Week.

We are Disciples of Christ, a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. As part of the one body of Christ we welcome all to the Lord's Table as God has welcomed us. No one is excluded from God's grace or God's invitation.

We practice unity and inclusion at the Lord's Table. All are welcome to the Lord's Table for the sake of mission and for the sake of the world as the one family of God. Our congregation celebrates communion every Sunday. No one is excluded from God's grace or God's invitation.

We are called to study and read scripture for ourselves. Rather than having tests of faith and creedal statements, we critically and thoughtfully study scripture, taking into account the history and background - the context- in which it was written. In Essentials Unity, In Non-Essentials Liberty. In all Things Love.

We practice believer baptism. A person makes the choice to follow God's call rather than the choice being made for them as an infant. Baptism is the basis of membership in the church and also a mark that every person is called to serve God. Although we practice believer baptism, we honor and accept the baptism of other faith traditions as accepted by the believer's conscience. Priesthood of all believers.

We answer God's call for justice. We seek to do this work in cooperation with other people of faith. Our goal as people who are called by God is to make a positive impact in the community around us, especially among the marginalized, the oppressed and the least of these. Faith in Action.

In addition, as our outreach mission, we have formed the Campbell Cooperative, a movement to preserve and promote the Campbell Farm in Bethany, WV (192 year old ancestral home of Alexander Campbell) and to inspire a new generation. This cooperative will work to create a 501c3 that will support and promote the maintenance of the property and to create programming and education within both the Disciples churches and the Church of Christ churches.
